It means to listen in order to obey or to pay serious attention. In today's preaching we will shema on how the LORD GOD prepared the way for the new generation of Israel to inherit the land that was promised to their forefathers. As written James 1.22 NLT, "But don’t just listen to God’s Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
