Preaching Podcast Ep. #98 - God of Rebuilding (Pastor Josh Hernandez)

Image
The Book of Zechariah is set after the return of the exiles from Babylon to Jerusalem. Zechariah and Haggai (Read Ezra 5.1-2) challenged and motivated the people to rebuild the temple. The Prophet Jeremiah prophesied that the exile of Israel would last for 70 years (Jeremiah 25.1-14) and the LORD Almighty would restore His presence to a new temple and bring His kingdom and the rule of the Messiah over all the nations. As Zechariah encourages the people of Israel to rebuild the temple of the LORD, we see how God works to rebuild His people if they are faithful to the God of Israel and to their covenant. As we get to know more about the God of the Bible, may we experience His presence in our lives that He is rebuilding from ruins back to life.  Today is Youth Sunday! Join us as the Youth Ablaze Ministry will lead us in prayer and worship and our Youth Pastor, Pastor Josh, will share the preaching of His Word! Together as a church, let’s worship Him! #LighthouseOnline

After the Jewish community returned to Jerusalem from 70 years of captivity in Babylon, they were permitted by the King of Persia to rebuild their temple, the symbol of their covenant with Yahweh. But, after a year of construction, the rebuilding halted. It was the prophet Haggai who preached and encouraged the returnees to continue prioritizing the Lord’s temple rebuilding. In this exposition of the book of Haggai, Pastor Leo Peralta will preach about “The God of Priority”. See you this Sunday, dear Lighthouse! #LighthouseOnline

Good day Lighthouse family! Today, Pastora Rio Artadi will preach from Zephaniah. In the book of Zephaniah, the Prophet warns Judah of the coming "Day of The Lord" where God would execute His destructive judgement for their sin. But out of His love for His people, God revealed Himself as the "Mighty Warrior Who Saves" where He Himself made a way to save the whole world from His judgment. #LighthouseOnline

Have you ever felt like your prayers seem to go unheard? Have you wrestled with the thought that God doesn't seem to care? Habbakuk did. So he pressed God for answers, and God responded. In today's preaching, Pastor Jojo will take us through theological thoughts on how the Bible teaches us to respond to life's injustices, inconsistencies, and inhumaneness. God hears you, my friend. And He has responded through His Son Jesus, our Savior. May you be blessed as we worship His Holy Name. #LighthouseOnline

Preaching Podcast Ep. #94 - God of Comfort (Pastor Jojo Baldo)

This ancient empire of Assyria had developed an elaborate doctrine of cruelty, the sole purpose of which was to gain such a strong foothold in their enemies’ hearts – a foothold of fear! Nahum was the prophet commissioned by God to pronounce judgment to a nation that He once spared, through the prophet Jonah’s preaching to the people of Nineveh, Assyria’s capital. But their evil deeds persisted and had reached its summit, and the Lord’s vengeance was upon them for the deaths they brought to God’s people.  Our comfort is drawn from the truth that God will not forever tolerate evil. He is the valiant warrior that wages war against the forces of evil, and ultimately avenges His people. He truly is a refuge to those who put their trust in Him.  Friend, when life is an overwhelming struggle against the darkness brought by death and the torturous heckles of the evil one, may we run to God and take refuge under His powerful hand. The Lord Jesus defeated Satan as He triumphed over dea...
